What is Happening to Southwest Airlines? The Company's Birth Chart Reveals the Sudden Chaos!

Firstly, if anyone was personally impacted by the horrendous travel disruptions during the last two weeks, on Southwest or any other airlines, I am so sorry and I hope you were able to get to where you were going!

If you weren’t affected I’m sure you still saw plenty of news headlines covering the complete meltdown that happened with Southwest Airlines. Several factors played into this meltdown, one was the weather, another staffing shortages, another underinvestment in its operations. About 2500 flights have been cancelled daily since December 25th - far exceeding the cancellation rate of any other airline.

This meltdown sounded so extreme that I decided to look up the birth chart of Southwest Airlines! While there is not a known “time of birth” for the company, I did find that it was founded on March 15, 1967 in San Antonio, Texas. Just enough information to see if the company was having any major transits! Sure enough, it is in the midst of a pretty significant one!

Southwest Airlines is currently experiencing transiting Uranus conjunct its Natal Moon in Taurus! The exact conjunction first happened at 13° Taurus in June of 2021, October of 2021 and April of 2022. Currently, Uranus is at 15° Taurus, so it has passed the exact conjunction, but is still very close. Uranus is the planet of chaos, sudden change, awakening, breakdowns and breakthroughs - so it makes sense that while it’s passing the Moon, it’s causing serious disruptions to the company!

In the chart of a business or company, the Moon represents instinctive nature, as well as the public and the customer. Southwest having its Moon in Taurus tells us that their customers are very loyal and appreciate stability. Now add Uranus into the mix - this loyalty that customers have felt has been completely shattered. These cancellations caused instability that was deeply upsetting.

What lesson is Southwest meant to learn here? Uranus transits create chaos as a wake-up call. Southwest is meant to really look at their customer service and must ask if they are operating in a way that is of value to their customers. If the company works with this transit, they can create a new model of operating that satisfies those they serve in every way.

This transit is also an example for predictions — sometimes the event of the exact transit will not manifest until months later! Or certain decisions could have been made during the months of June, and October of 2021 or April of 2022, that ended up impacting the company now.
