Full Moon in Gemini conjunct Mars (Full Mars!)
The Full Moon in Gemini is the first full moon post eclipse season! However, due to its close alignment with Mars its energy will be potent! Gemini is the sign of curiosity, ideas, stories, communication, learning and teaching. As an air sign, it’s intellectual and social. As a mutable sign, Gemini is flexible and adaptable - able to go with the flow and absorb new information quickly.
The special guest star joining today’s Full Moon, as I mentioned above, is fiery, action-oriented Mars! Just like the Moon, Mars is in direct opposition to the sun. I encourage you to go outside tonight and see this beautiful wonder for yourselves. Tonight (and also tomorrow night), you will see Mars at its brightest of the entire year - glowing orange. Note, there will also be what’s known as an occultation (like a solar eclipse), where the Moon will pass between Earth and Mars, so Mars will be temporarily blocked by the Moon for viewers in most of the U.S., except for the East Coast. This will happen around 11 pm PST and last for about 30 minutes!
The addition of Mars creates very strong and passionate energy today - it can be energizing, but also intense. There is a chance this alignment will make some of us feel more irritated or hotheaded than energized. Mars influencing the Full Moon can also put us more at risk for accidents. Please be aware of your surroundings and remember to let things go if they’re upsetting you.
This is the perfect Moon to host a gathering, because it encourages lively, fun conversations with others! It’s also an especially good Moon to journal and write out whatever has been stuck in your head. Another good activity to participate in during this moon is to take a class and learn something new.
In terms of what we can release today - think about your communication skills. Are there any bad habits you have? Do you not speak up enough? Do you want to speak with more intention? Do you want to cut back your screen time on social media? Release what you don’t think is serving you!
