The Lunar Eclipse in Taurus 2022 : A Turbulent Day!
Lunar Eclipse/Blood Moon in Taurus
Confronting our Worth!
I have been analyzing this eclipse for about a year now! The first time I looked at the complete chart of today, I was in shock because there was so much going on and on our election day nonetheless! I will get into the more complex alignments in a moment, but first let’s start with the general themes of this eclipse.
Remember, Lunar eclipses bring significant endings to chapters in our lives. It closes a cycle, allowing for a new one to emerge.
The energy is incredibly intense, as it is with any eclipse, but because this one falls on the Scorpio/Taurus axis, it makes it even moreso. We know that anything associated with Scorpio brings powerful transformation, but not without loss or destruction. Depending on which house this eclipse falls in for you (look at the house in your chart that’s ruled by Taurus), and if you have any planets between 14°-18° degrees of fixed signs or earth signs, the range of intensity that you will feel this eclipse can vary. However, all of us can expect to feel drained in the days leading up to and even after the exact eclipse takes place.
The attention today, is focused on the Taurus moon, making us all acutely or even painfully aware of our material security, personal resources, and values. It’s important to pay close attention to how we feel about money and our relationship to it at this time. We might be confronted with tests to see how much we truly value ourselves and what we stand for. This eclipse will shine a light on what you can and cannot afford for the coming months - emotionally and physically.
Noteworthy: this eclipse is conjunct Uranus in Taurus which adds an element of chaos. This could manifest as disruptions to personal finances, global markets, budgeting and food sources. Collectively, our sense of security could suddenly be challenged in ways that are unexpected. Emotions are unstable and impulsive, manic even. Uranus is also in opposition to Mercury, the Sun, and Venus. This can cause erratic and unfocused communication, an inability to cooperate with others, and disruptions to relationships and resources.
I find the square that Saturn is making to several planets today - Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Uranus to be troublesome. Saturn in this aspect becomes burdensome and restrictive. It creates delays, blocks, depression and loneliness. It is essentially putting heavy weight on all of these planets (four of which are personal), preventing them from functioning at their best. This means heaviness on our energy, our thoughts, our words, our emotions, our relationships and our ability to feel free. The weight put on Venus and the Moon - the two feminine bodies, suggests women will be greatly affected by this eclipse and will have to work very hard for their community goals moving forward. This could be the winning of a battle, but it will be hard fought.
Lastly, I want to address retrograde Mars in Gemini today, making a square to Jupiter and Neptune. As a single issue, Mars in retrograde is frustrated and in Gemini he’s specifically frustrated because he can’t solve problems and communicate quickly. Not helpful when we have votes to count! Mixing in Jupiter can cause over inflated egos and over the top fanatical arguments, while Neptune can cause confusion and disillusionment.
My mundane assessment regarding this election, is that there will be many hurdles before we get clear answers on who won and who lost.
